When the Farm Bill of 2018 was passed making the manufacture and distribution of CBD products legal in the United States, the increase of CBD products in the market grew exponentially. While this is great news for people who can potentially get relief from CBD products as they now have greater access, it’s bad news for people who aren’t educated about CBD and CBD products, because they can easily be led astray into buying products that are low-quality, don’t include as much CBD as they claim, or worse--include no CBD at all.

If those issues weren’t enough to trouble you, it can be nearly impossible to figure out just how much CBD oil to take. Information online is scattered and not congruent, and some of it doesn’t have any research to back it. It’s scary to think of taking something new without proper dosing guidelines, and we understand the hesitation you may experience before taking CBD products because of this lack of information.

Not to worry. We at QULCBD can provide you with some guidance concerning all things CBD related. We aim to be a strong voice in the CBD community, providing our customers with a valuable CBD knowledge base, so they can make the most informed decision about CBD as possible. We do the homework and research so that you don’t have to. We not only supply our customers with luxury CBD health, wellness, and beauty products, we keep our fingers on the pulse of the CBD community to provide you with the latest news and trends.

Because we researched CBD and CBD usage so much prior to forming our company, we feel confident in providing you with information related to CBD dosing and formats. We can help you make sense of what CBD oil is, how you should take CBD, and why, how much to take, and which formats are best for the goals you have.

CBD 101

If you are new to CBD, here’s a little background information. CBD is not marijuana. CBD cannot get you “high.” CBD is an all-natural, plant-based chemical compound that has a plethora of health and wellness benefits. It is extracted from a particular species of the cannabis sativa plant in either isolate, broad spectrum, or full spectrum form. Isolate and broad spectrum oils do not include THC (the chemical compound found in marijuana). While full spectrum oil does contain a trace of THC (less than .3% as allowed by law), it is not enough to get a user high or cause them to have a psychoactive reaction.

A user who wants maximum CBD oil benefit will choose a full spectrum CBD oil. A user who wants maximum CBD oil benefit will choose a full spectrum CBD oil. These oils are able to produce the entourage effect. The entourage effect refers to all portions of the hemp plant working together synergistically to bring the user the maximum CBD benefit possible. Isolate oils, it should be noted, contain no other usable plant parts; they only contain cannabidiol, which makes them the least desirable of the three oil formats.

Why Take CBD Oil?

CBD can benefit your body in a number of ways. Some of the most popular reasons for using CBD are to help with mental wellness, everyday aches and pains, sleep issues, and as a general overall health and wellness supplement.

No matter what your reason is for taking CBD, it’s a good idea to hone in on exactly what your focus will be, as that can determine how best to take your CBD and how much of your CBD to take. For instance, if you want to take CBD for skincare, it may be best to use a topical CBD product instead of taking it internally.

How Much CBD Should I Take and What Formats are Best?

While there is currently no general one-size-fits-all dosing table like you’d find on the back of a bottle of aspirin, you can definitely make some educated guesses as to how much CBD oil to take, and what format you should be taking.

It really starts by determining your reason for taking CBD. For instance, if your goal is clearer-looking skin, you should stick to a topical format. If you are taking CBD to promote calmness and relaxation, a tincture would be a good solution. For our purposes, we’ll look at three different formats: tinctures, creams, and skincare products.

There are many reasons people love tinctures; here are just a few.

Tinctures. Tinctures are highly concentrated doses of CBD oil that have been dissolved into another solution. While many tinctures use alcohol as a solvent, QULCBD only uses high-quality multi-chain triglyceride (“MCT”) oil which is a healthy fat and helps the CBD contained in a tincture to absorb better once you’ve consumed it.

Tinctures are the answer if you are taking CBD for mental wellness, as an aid to ease you into sleep, for everyday aches and pains, or simply as an overall addition to your health and wellness routine. Tinctures deliver a high dosage of CBD to your body in a format that can be taken either sublingually or added to food or drink.

Your tincture’s concentration will determine how much you will need to take, as well as your body’s own chemistry, your height, weight, and sex. For many users, a supplement of one half of a dropper of tincture per day is enough to provide benefits. Some users will find that they want an additional dose later in the day. It’s best to start with a small dose and work your way up so that you know that your body tolerates the dose well and you don’t take more than you need to.

The World Health Organization has deemed the use of CBD oil as non-habit forming. This is important because it means, unlike some drugs used to aid in all of the above uses, you are not at risk of becoming addicted to CBD.

Creams. Another way to deliver CBD to your body is through the use of creams. Specifically, creams are a fantastic option for a user who wants the temporary soothing relief CBD can provide for sore muscles and joints. If you are experiencing acute, localized pain, a CBD cream may be the best solution.

For this option, your “dosage” will be set for you automatically by the cream you choose. If you choose a cream that contains 400 mg of high quality, full-spectrum CBD oil, your dosage will be subject to how much of that cream you use. Creams are buildable and can be used repetitively. Once you’ve applied a cream to an area where you are experiencing pain, you can wait until the cream is absorbed into the skin and then apply it again if necessary.

Skincare. If you want all that CBD has to offer your skin, you’re going to need to invest in a CBD skincare line. CBD has benefits for your skin that are second to none. In our opinion, no other skincare ingredient is more beneficial. Products with CBD as a main ingredient alongside other skin-promoting nutrients are superior at skin hydration and moisture retention and can promote a healthy glow alongside reducing the appearance of blemishes and aging like fine lines and wrinkles.

With skin, the more CBD oil you use, the more benefits you will see. This is why we recommend you jump in with both feet and begin using CBD oil skincare products from start to finish. From your cleanser to your serums and moisturizers, the more CBD products you use, the better they will give you results. CBD oil skincare products work synergistically with one another to deliver maximum benefit. You will, of course, see results if you only begin using one CBD oil skincare product, but your results will be exponential if you start an entire CBD oil skincare lineup.

Figuring out the optimal doses for a CBD oil product can be difficult. Determining your dose really depends on why you are taking CBD oil, the concentration and format of your CBD oil product, how quickly you need relief, and your own body statistics. A great idea is to start off slowly and gradually introduce more products to determine what works and what does not.
